Who we are....
What we do...
The Library and Knowledge Service provides library and information services to all NHS staff and placement students across Southport and Ormskirk. Our aim is to deliver high quality information to support patient care, education and learning, service development, and research activity.
We provide the following...
- Enquiry and Literature Searches. We offer a specialised enquiry and literature search service accessible by phone, email, fax or in person. Contact us with details of the information you need and we will do the searching for you.
- Information Skills Training: A range of information skills sessions are available through our rolling programme, or to individuals or small groups in their workplace.
- Current Awareness: We provide regular bulletins and alerts on the latest developments in healthcare. We can also set up tailored alerts for your team or project to minimise information overload and deliver the latest information targeted to your specific information needs.
- Library Resources: Our resources collection covers all aspects of health from acute to primary care, mental health, public health, health management and research. In our two libraries across Southport and Ormskirk we hold a wide variety of books, journals, health education resources and items of IT equipment, all available for loan and searchable on our online catalogue. Free access to ejournals, ebooks, biomedical databases and an interlibrary loan service is also available to NHS staff.
