The Medical Education department is based at Southport and is situated within the Clinical Education Centre. The Medical Education team oversee and coordinate delivery of all programmes of medical education provided by the Trust, working in partnership with Health Education England (NW), University of Liverpool, Edge Hill University and the GMC.
Our service portfolio includes supporting placements for student doctors, student physician associates, doctors in training and our Trust employed doctors. You will find all of our teaching programmes, including core and specialty, by following the links on the Learning Map.

You will also discover a broad range of additional opportunities for learning which will add value to your experience and enhance your portfolio, from experiential learning opportunities across the Trust to externally commissioned courses and regional programmes of teaching, to conferences & events.
The Medical Education team also support Trust-wide, non-medical clinical training activity through MDT programmes of training and our broad programme of simulation training. As you navigate your way through the Learning Map, you will be introduced to members of the team assigned to each cohort of responsibility. I am Ann Holden, the Director of Medical Education here in the Trust. In addition, I am a Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthetics, so am very much involved in the delivery of clinical medicine.
