Reading Well Books on Prescription for dementia recommends books you might find helpful if you have dementia, are caring for someone with dementia or would like to find out more about the condition. The books provide information and advice, support for living well, advice for relatives and carers, and personal stories. They are endorsed by health professionals and can all be borrowed from the Hanley Library, Southport Hospital for use on hospital wards. These are some of the titles available to borrow: |

Memory boxes work on the principles of reminiscence or ‘life story’ therapy. Because the oldest memories are the ones that people with dementia retain the best it can give them great comfort to see and talk about items that trigger those memories. Put together a Memory Box for someone living with dementia. Nostalgia items are available for loan from our Reminiscence Collection. Click here to see contents. |
